We are pleased to share an inspiring and insightful media story featuring Prime Healthcare this week, where President and Chief Medical Officer Sunny Bhatia, MD, MMM, FACHE, FACC, FSCAI, discussed key growth initiatives with Kelly Gooch, Senior Editor of Becker’s Hospital Review. Dr. Bhatia speaks to the tremendous progress of Prime Healthcare, furthering our commitment of advancing healthcare in communities across the United States.
In the Becker’s feature, critical advancements happening across our system were highlighted, including:
- Systemwide Epic EMR implementation: Prime is transitioning to the Epic EMR platform, starting with a go-live in Southern California. This integrated system will enhance patient care, streamline workflows, and reduce administrative tasks for frontline staff, supporting efficient, value-based care across all facilities.
- Financial and operational strategy: Prime is addressing rising healthcare costs and reimbursement challenges, especially with Medicare Advantage. Focused on revenue cycle management and strategic collaborations with payers, we are working further to increase financial efficiency.
- Expansion through acquisition: With the acquisition of nine hospitals in the Chicago area, Prime reinforces its commitment to supporting distressed hospitals and serving vulnerable communities.
- Ambulatory and outpatient service expansion: Prime is growing its ambulatory and outpatient services, including urgent care, ambulatory surgery, and telehealth, which will improve care access for elderly and underserved populations. These services complement our acute-care focus and respond to community needs.
- PrimE-Academy: To support employee growth and retention, Prime launched PrimE-Academy, an innovative virtual classroom for on-demand learning and professional development. This platform is aimed at fostering a supportive environment and career.
These initiatives illustrate Prime’s ongoing dedication to high-quality, compassionate care, and to the health and well-being of the communities we are proud to serve. These endeavors require immense collaboration, and I am proud of our teams for their collective efforts in ensuring health equity for all of our patients and families across the country.
